In the UK divergent plate boundaries are called constructive plate boundaries because it is at this point that new crust is created.

In the UK convergent plate boundaries are destructive boundaries. They may be collision zones such as the Himalayas or subduction zones such as western South America.

In the UK Strike Slip faults are called Conservative Plate boundaries.
