This is Professor Bob Carter. He is a professor in the Marine Geophysical Laboratory at James Cook University in Australia. He pretends to be an honest academic, but he is a member of the Institute of Public Affairs, which sounds impressive. It is, however, is a political group funded by mining and oil companies including Esso Australia, a subsidiary of Exxon. The Sydney Morning Herald, has indicated he has little standing in the scientific community.

This is a document written by the Royal Society. The Royal Society is a learned society of scientists that was established in London in 1660. It is Britain’s most prestigious learned society. It’s membership comes from the most respected scientists in the world. This is their report about the facts and fictions about climate change.

Misleading Argument 1: The IPCC has become too politicised and does not accurately reflect

the wide range of views within the scientific community. The IPCC summary for policy-

makers does not adequately represent the scientific uncertainty.
